About This Tartan

Designed for the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders raised by Alan Cameron of Erracht in 1793. It was never adopted by the clan. A sample of this tartan exists in the Cockburn Collection (1810-20) in the Mitchell Library in Glasgow. Regiments who wore this tartan were; Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders (79th Cameron Highlanders), The Pipe Band of Merchiston Castle School, Prince Alfred's Guard 1874 (South Africa)
