How our Kilts are Made
  • The tartan is woven at one of Scotland most respected mills where they pride themselves in weaving the higest quality of tartan
  • The tartan is visually inspected and hand finished, ensuring the cloth is in perfect condition ready for the kilt maker
  • Starting at the fringe on the top apron, the kilt is laid out, marked and the first pleat is set.
  • The pleats are then individually hand-stitched.
  • Every kilt receives the same patience, attention to detail and quality finish - hence over 20 hours goes into every one.
  • Only top quality canvas is used in both aprons and the pleated section, with the addition of a canvas strip inserted into each individual pleat.
